Pronology Provides Workflow Solution for 93rd OSCARS®

May 13, 2021 – For the 11th year in a row, Pronology, a developer of cutting-edge tapeless workflow solutions, continues its tradition of being a part of the action at the 93rd annual Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences Oscars®.

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, this production was quite different than previous years. With packages being created by editors and producers working from home, the workflow this year was spread across more locations than usual. Pronology provided workflow services to enable both packages to be delivered to the stage for play-out as well as captured media to be delivered back to the editors immediately after the clips were created. This allowed the Academy to limit the number of people on site.

Pronology was able to set up an automated system for both the media push and pull operations as well as tuned file transfer speeds to ensure the remote workflow ran as efficiently as possible. With this system, media was made available automatically to all parties and eliminated the hassle of uploading and downloading media manually as well as media organization as all metadata and file structure was replicated for each endpoint.

Pronology’s expertise in workflow design and automation has helped the Academy engineers, producers, and artists work efficiently and safely on this large scale production despite the hurdles caused by a pandemic.
