Pronology Presents Upgrades to Both mRes™ and Streamfile Core™ at NAB 2025

A web viewer for mRes and StreamFile Core clipping upgrades as well as Linux support

LAS VEGAS, MARCH 31, 2025 — Pronology, a developer of cutting-edge broadcast workflow solutions, introduces its latest upgrades to mRes™ and StreamFile Core™ at NAB 2025 (Booth W2328), including remote/web viewing of mRes streams, clipping upgrades for StreamFile Core, and Linux support for both products. mRes™ is an award-winning standalone multi-resolution encoder that allows simultaneous video encoding to multiple codecs such as ProRes, DNx, XDCam, H.264 through an easy-to-use interface. StreamFile Core™ is a web platform for distributing and receiving IP video protocols and encoding them into editor-friendly formats. It can write media files directly to local or cloud-based storage such as Amazon S3.

mRes users will now be able to view their encoder channels and status remotely using a secure web interface. The web view can be a single channel or up to 16 in a multiview. A producer can now take notes against a high quality stream from home. Taking inspiration from how StreamFile Core is used by groups around the world, this feature is in line with Pronology’s mission to make remote productions more streamlined.

In StreamFile Core, new clipping features are available. The DVR style clipping interface now supports keyboard shortcuts for users already familiar with video editing software. Clips in H.264 and H.265 codecs can now be played back directly in the interface, eliminating the need for users to download them locally. Additionally, StreamFile Core can now output SRT or NDI streams acting as a relay device to be used by various other production tools.

“The benefit of having both mRes and StreamFile Core derived from the same engine allows us to elevate both products simultaneously by sharing features that customers find most useful,” says Jonathan Aroesty, president of Pronology. “We see the many benefits that Linux versions of our software will bring us in terms of performance, efficiency, and stability.”

Due to unexpected performance variability in the Windows operating systems in recent years, migrating to Linux is the next logical step in future-proofing Pronology’s offerings. StreamFile Core, being a web application, also benefits from easier provisioning and deployment as well as lower costs for both on-prem and cloud based installations.

StreamFile Core and mRes are available as software subscription models as well as turn-key event-based hardware and software rental systems.
